Snow storms have made its rounds across the U.S. this past week. Alta Ski Resort got pounded with 2 feet of sweet powder. Powder Mountain received 31 inches of snow, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows got a storm delivering 25 inches of fresh snow, and Brighton received 19 inches over 24 hours and are up to a 169 inch base. This Thursday, a blizzard is expected to deliver up to 18 inches of snow across norther New Hampshire and into Maine. We’ve recently added weather forecasts into our resort pages to help you plan ahead. Check it out and let us know what you think. We are always looking for new ways to improve the site.

Sugarbush First Timer Program aims to get you hooked on Skiing/Snowboarding


Do you know anyone interested in learning to ski or snowboard? Sugarbush Resort (Vermont) is offering an excellent program for newbies. This 3 day program includes: rental equipment, a 3 lesson series of lessons, and lift tickets. The best part is that once the person completes the 3 day lesson, they receive a FREE Sugarbush All-Mountain Season Pass for the remainder of the 2016-17 winter season. All of this is only $280! This is a great deal at a great mountain.

Loon Mountain to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

It was 50 years ago that former New Hampshire Governor Sherman Adams founded Loon Mountain Resort, transforming Lincoln from a sleepy mill town to a year-round resort destination. This winter, we're celebrating our 50th anniversary with special events throughout the entire season, including a special 50th Anniversary Weekend (Jan. 28-29) featuring a commemorative gala, family scavenger hunt, and revamped Briefcase Race.

Foodies to Flock to the Slopes of Sunday River Resort

Sunday River is holding an event for foodies to take in some creations by top chefs and mixologists in New England. On January 28, 2017, Sunday River Resort and O'Maine Studios will be hosting their second annual Chef Summit event. This event begins in the morning with a celebration of National Blueberry Pancake Day. Eight chef teams will compete to redefine pancakes by using wild blueberries, Sunday River's own maple syrup, and other creative ingredients. You can taste the entries from 8-10 am for $15 per person. Later that night, in Sunday River's Jordan Hotel, you can enjoy samples from 10 chefs, with one wine pairing and two mixologists' concoctions.

Ski Cooper Includes Freedom Pass for Free to its Pass holders

Ski Cooper (Colorado) is offering free upgrade to their season pass by giving pass holders the Freedom Pass for FREE. In the past, they would charge for this like many other resorts. This year, they are giving it away for free. Nice! Once they have the pass, they can simply take their pass to a partner mountain to receive a complimentary lift ticket for the day. See details

Telluride Announces Future Development and Expansion


Telluride Ski Resort is home to some of the steepest, deepest and most diverse terrain of any ski resort in the U.S. Recently, Telluride Ski & Golf Resort announced their master development plan for the next 10-15 years. Some of the proposed winter and summer projects as part of the Master Development Plan including various replacements of lifts, expansion of Giuseppe’s, a restaurant at the top of Sunshine Express Lift, and more.
