Powder Alert in the East
Crazy weather on the east. A couple of weeks ago we wrote about how the east got slammed by some snow, then last week we wrote about how the rain and warm weather took out the snow, and this week areas got slammed with up to 58 inches of snow. Out west is the same old. Lots of snow!
In the east, Whiteface Mountain got over 40'' of natural snowfall over a 24 hours while Jay Peak got nearly 50" of new snow. Over the two day period, many areas including Stowe Mountain Resort (48"), Mad River Glen (42"), and Smugglers' Notch (48") got in excess of 3 feet snow. Out west, the snow keeps coming and it has been created some problems for Squaw Valley. Check out our recent article on how Squaw Valley is dealing with it.

This week, Cranmore Mountain announced that they will be hosting the Sam Adams 3D Air & Après Show Tour on March 18th, 2017. Scotty Lago, 2010 Olympic snowboarding bronze medalist will be one of the riders performing with the team. “I’m super pumped to be doing this show at Cranmore Mountain Resort. The 3D projection is insane. I have only seen this type of thing online and my mind was blown. I cannot wait to see it on snow. I will be bringing out some of the best snowboarders I can find to be a part of the show with me.”
MAX Pass adds 4 new Mountains
As we mentioned in our article on multi-mountain passes, things are heating up as they compete on mountains. Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass and Mountain Collective have swapped some mountains recently and now MAX Pass is getting in on it. Next season, MAX Pass will be adding 4 new mountains for a total of 44 mountains. Since last year, they have added 6 mountains including Bellearye, Gore Mountain, Whiteface, Lutsen, Granite Peak, and Windham as well as Stoneham and Mont-Saint-Anne previously added. Very impressive! If you want a run down of the different ski passes, check out our full article from October. With all of the recent changes and additions, we’ll need to update things for next year. But, you’ll get the picture. The passes are awesome.
