Major Investments Announced for New York’s Whiteface and Gore Mountains
New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that the state will invest up to $20 million for major upgrades at Whiteface and Gore Mountains to attract more visitors. The project will update the skiing, lodging, dining, and retail experience and add year-round activities at Gore and Whiteface Mountains. The project is the first major upgrade at both Whiteface and Gore in 30 years and they hope it will increase off-season revenue and make the resorts more competitive with other resorts around the world. Gov. Cuomo said “Our ski resorts should rival anything on the planet. This is the state of New York. Lake Placid was where the Olympics came. We can have world-class venues. We should be competing with Vail, Switzerland, Vancouver. That is where we should set our sights.” We look forward to it.
