Winter Resorts in the News (Nov. 25, 2016)
What a Week can do for a Snow Resort
It’s amazing what a good snow storm can do. Last week, numerous mountains across the country were forced to delay openings for a week or even indefinitely. This week massive storms dumped heavy amounts of snow throughout the country. In the East Coast, Stratton (Vermont) got about 9 inches of fresh snow and had their 300+ snow guns roaring around the clock to get them opening on Friday, November 25. Whiteface received 14 inches of new powder. In the West Coast, Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows received 15 inches of new snow to get them to a scheduled November 23 opening date. Check out our updated list of opening dates.

Imaging having Jackson Hole and Corbet’s Couloir as Your Backyard
PowderCam was started with the idea that it would be nice to see more videos related to all the places we want to go to. For many avid skiers, Jackson Hole’s Corbet’s Couloir is on their bucket list of runs to do. Jackson Hole always comes up with some fantastic videos and their latest is on Forrest Jillson, the son of a ski patroller who had Jackson Hole as his playground and got to go on avalanche reduction routes and skiing Corbet’s was a normal day. Check out their video about Forrest and his incredible journey from being told he would never ski the same again to his amazing comeback.
