Northstar Ski Resort
Northstar Ski Resort, previously known as Northstar-at-Tahoe, is located near the north shore of Lake Tahoe. The resort is a laid-back family resort with high-end luxury accommodations, shopping and dining. Northstar Ski Resort has 97 trails across 3,170 acres of skiable terrain and a 2,280 vertical drop with a top elevation of 8,610 feet. The resort also contains 7 world-class terrain parks and a 22-foot superpipe designed by Olympian Shaun White.
Northstar Ski Resort has impeccable grooming, incredible tree skiing, and a variety of terrain options suitable for any level of skier/boarder. You’ll find lots of well-groomed cruisers, steeps, and tree skiing. The mountain does get 350 inches of annual snowfall, but if there ever is a season with low levels, Northstar Ski Resort has extensive snow making and grooming to make it pleasant regardless of natural snowfall.
If you are looking for a mountain that suits every family member, than Northstar Ski Resort is a great choice. It has been rated as one of the top ski resorts for overall mountain, grooming, customer service and kids activities. But, if you are looking for the best skiing and riding Tahoe has to offer, then you may want to check out some of the other mountains in the Tahoe region. At Northstar Ski Resort, you'll have a nice mountain with high-end amenities and service giving you a pleasant stay. Two common complaints at Northstar Ski Resort are that the food is expensive and that the walk from parking to the actual skiing is very long.
