Stowe Mountain Resort, located in Vermont, can be classified as a luxury resort. It is consistently one of the highest rated mountains in the eastern United States. Stowe Mountain Resort is one of the more expensive resorts in the eastern U.S., it is often compared to high end resorts in Europe for all of its amenities on and off the mountain. If you are looking for an upscale resort with a quaint historic Vermont town and you don’t mind paying for it, Stowe Mountain Resort makes a nice getaway.

Located in an area that receives a large amount of snowfall every year along with expansive snowmaking, Stowe Mountain Resort offers 116 trails with a large variety for all levels and claim that not two trails are alike. With a nice variety of terrain and excellent ski school, Stowe Mountain Resort is also a great place for families. You can take the high-speed gondola to the top of Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak and catch spectacular views and get a fine meal at a restaurant at the top.

The Village of Stowe is also part of the experience of this resort. It is a nicely kept historic town that has great après-ski, dining, and shopping available. More than 40 restaurants and bars and numerous boutiques, galleries and shops are located in the village. For an evening at the theatre, check out the 420-seat Spruce Peak Performance Arts Center. All-in-all, Stowe Mountain Resort is a terrific destination for a fabulous ski vacation.

  • Stowe Mountain Resort is one of the more expensive resorts in the east with full-price tickets exceeding $100. Look for deals online or with their Evolution Card.
  • Pack a lunch if you can. While the food is very good at Stowe Mountain Resort. It is also very expensive. Be prepared.
  • Can get icy. Watch the weather if you are only planning to go for a day trip.
