Winter Park Ski Resort is located about 67 miles northwest of Denver and is the oldest continually operated resort in Colorado. It is known as a family friendly resort with terrain for all abilities. You won’t find the dining or shopping that other resorts in the area are known for, but with 3,081 skiable acres and 143 trails, it has some of the best skiing in the U.S. making it popular with locals and to those simply looking for great skiing. It rates highly for kids-activities, terrain parks, and value.

Winter Park Ski Resort has terrain with trails for every level. You’ll find wide open runs, decent declines, long runs, groomed, bumps, powder, trees, and bowl skiing. There are lots of great intermediate runs. Winter Park Ski Resort boasts seven different “territories”: Parsenn Bowl, Winter Park Territory, Vasquez Ridge, Terrain Park, Eagle Wind, The Cirque, and the infamous Mary Jane Territory all connected with a network of trails and chairlifts.

Parsenn Bowl reaches to 12,000 feet and provides an amazing journey down. Winter Park Ski Resort has North America’s highest six-passenger chairlift that ascends to some amazing 360-degree views. This is an area at Winter Park Ski Resort that is intermediate-friendly and gives skiers and boarders a variety of options including a wide-open bowl and gorgeous glades.

Mary Jane Mountain is home to amazing tree skiing, world-class moguls, and wide open alpine bowls. Long, bumpy, and challenging with plenty of blues to help you chill out when you need to. Mary Jane is a Colorado experience that’ll push your limits.

Although Winter Park Ski Resort doesn’t have the extensive amenities of some of the other area resorts, the resort does contain modern amenities and the base village contains multiple lodging, dining and shopping options. With its excellent service, open terrain, and trails for all levels, Winter Park is an excellent family resort.
